Planning a Birthday Party for My Boss’ Son

I figured that my boss knew I was not really working all hard lately. I have been having to figure out how to kill a little time each day to make up for the fact that I have been able to handle my work load quite easily lately. At any rate she decided that she was going to find something for me to do and so I am now in charge of the birthday party for her 7 year old son. I have to find some appropriate trade stand entertainment for hire, an appropriate venue and the usual stuff that you feed kids in birthday parties. It would not be that big of a deal if not for the fact that she and her soon to be ex husband are in the middle of a rather nasty divorce. So you have to figure out how to keep both sides satisfied and prevent this from turning into the Third World War. I decided to consult with the person who matters in this, the little boy in question. Of course I figure that he is the one who should decide whether or not to get clowns or magicians. Some kids are scared of clowns I have heard, and I know that a lot of them are pretty creepy looking. In fact a lot of people of all ages find magic acts boring or lame, so that might not be what you want to do. You want to be sure that you have something that is going to entertain the audience, not something which is going to frighten them or put them to sleep. I already went to this bakery I know and talked to them about making a cake. They are really good at this sort of thing and I have seen their work at weddings.
